Canadian Art McDonald, whom I know personally...well, um, he might not know ME personally, but you know what I mean...is one of the co-winners of this year's Nobel Prize in Physics. The discovery of neutrino oscillations not only solved the solar neutrino problem but established that neutrinos have mass, which fundamentally alters what kind of, um, fundamental particle they are thought to be, with far-reaching implications. I know quite a few people involved in big or small ways with the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory and am tremendously proud of them. It's all pretty fantastic.
